Upper Missouri River Regional Dispatch Center |
Call takers are asking questions for yours and the responders' safety. They are trained to get the most important information as quickly as possible. Please allow them to ask the questions they need in order to get help there in the timeliest manner.
Staying calm can be one of the most difficult, yet important, things to do when calling 9-1-1. It's important so the call taker can get the information as quickly as possible.
Even if 9-1-1 is called by mistake, please stay on the phone, so the call taker can verify that there is no emergency.
9-1-1 is for police, fire, and medical emergencies only. You may call 411 for information, 511 for road conditions, and your electric company for power outages.
Be sure to teach your child(ren) your address in case they have to call 9-1-1, as well as what 9-1-1 is and when to use it.
